I’ve seen quit a bit of negative reviews about this antenna so I took a chance. The low price, high gain almost seemed too good to be true.
The antenna needed some work before installation. I didn’t like the screw connecting the two copper sections of the antenna inside the fiber glass. Getting rid of the screw and a portion of the copper changed the tuning slightly but not much.
I didn’t trust the o-rings so I added epoxy-based glue to the joints. I’m not going to take it down any time soon anyways. I like the final result. It’s sturdy, seems reliable. Time will tell.
Obviously the antenna has some build issues but they can be fixed quite easily. I don’t know maybe the JTB3 is better but I’m pleased with JTB2.
